24 Hour Film Competition

El Lucha Diablo Loco

In 2010 I participated in Fredericton's 48 hour film competition with two of my classmates, Rodney, and Adam. My roles included idea conception, cinematography, and eidting the final product.

Each participating team is given an inspiration package including a place, a picture, and an item. You must base your film on these items, write your script, choose your actors, shoot and edit the film in 24 hours.

Our inspiration package included a picture of, a picture of an outhouse with a condom wrapper, our location was the Water Tower, and our object was a black Venom Spiderman mask.

We got to thinking and our brainstorming led to the concept of a comedy about an self described evil genius who hires a film crew to document him on his way to world domination. Being a film competition we wanted to bring in elements of film production that would resonate with our audience. To accomplish this we presented the film as the rough cut piece that never made it into final production due to the demise of its main character.

We came third place in the competition, and won Best Editor.

It's strange, it's foolish, but ultimately--it was fun! Please Enjoy!
